What is Squizzer

Squizzer searches an index comprising a select number of websites that cover the art and science of producing successful websites. Topics covered include:-

• overall design
• performance
• marketing
• promotion, and
• revenue.

Which sites are in the Squizzer database?

The core database includes the best sites in the genre, the A-List as it were, based on both personal opinion and that of my peers within the industry. These sites are then categorized into five main resource groups:-

• .commentary - articles, blogs and opinion,
• .discussion - forums and discussion groups,
• .guides - tutorials and guidelines,
• .research - reference, papers and standards,
• .revenue - advertising and affiliate marketing.

They are also rated within each category, again based on both personal and peer opinion.

The only includes resources in English, simply because I cannot read other languages.

Why Squizzer?

Well, initially I put it together purely as a search tool for myself, so I could quickly search for specific information across a focused group of resources from one central point without having to jump around to various sites and searches. Others expressed interest in gaining access to the search tool, so I decided to put it online for all to use.

What's in a name?

The word Squizzer is based on the Australian Slang word "Squiz", meaning to look at or to look for. Therefore, I guess a Squizzer is one who is looking.

Does Squizzer accept submissions??

Squizzer is not accepting URL submissions at this time whilst I build up the main core of data resources. However, that may change in the future - stay tuned.
